How To Speed Your Metabolism
Ever have the friend that eats everything in sight and never gains a pound? Secretly you may have wished
you could switch your seemingly slow metabolism for their speedy one. While you can not change your genetic make-up,
there are some simple steps you can take to speed up your bodys metabolism
|
Foods:
There are certain foods you can eat that have shown to improve your body's metabolism. Fish contains
essential healthy omega-3 fatty acids (the good kind of fat). Additionally, it is naturally high in muscle
building protein. Tomatoes have high levels of antioxidants, they are a good source of fiber and they are known
to help flush out waste and fat from your body. Everyone knows by now that whole grains are a great source of
fiber which is needed to keep the metabolism running high. Because your body spends a lot more time digesting
fibers than it does carbs, dark green vegetables are another great source of fiber. Not to mention the benefits
of the additional vitamin A, C, and calcium.
|
Exercise:
Try doing interval training. Your body can get stuck doing the same routine over and over and your exercise
time will have to increase to show the same amount of results. Vary your training to include high intensity exercises
as well. Keep your body guessing.
|
Sleep:
Additionally, it is important to get a good night sleep. And when you get up, dont skip the breakfast.
Skipping meals is a sure fire way of slowing down your bodies metabolism. Finally, drink lots of water. If you must
drink a soda, drink two glasses of water for every soda you drink.
Forearm Push Ball
How To Do It: 1- Get on your elbows in a push-up position.
2- Keep your body straight and your abdominals tight.
3- Using a partner have them roll a heavy ball to you towards your forearm. Receive the ball with your forearm and immediately push it back to him using your forearm.
4- At all times keep your back straight and abdominals tight.
5- As the ball is rolling towards you, keep an eye on it until it is just in front of your elbow.
6- Return to starting position and repeat the movement 6 to 8 times then change sides.
